December 6
Use a bird bath de-icer to keep your birdbath ice-free this winter. At Primex we offer many choices like Farm Innovators Bird Bath De-Icer (Model B-9) and the Ice Eliminator, a 50 watt thermostatically controlled de-icer for the bird bath. New this year, we are carrying 2 different electric heated bird baths.

December 7
Decorate for the winter. Clean window boxes. Dispose of old soil and plants. Fill box with a thick layer of sand and add evergreens sprays and berried branches. We carry a great assortment of fresh greens for the winter. As you decorate for the holiday, indoor and out, remember that Primex also has fresh wreaths, centerpieces, garlands, cut trees, Poinsettias, Cyclamens and more.

December 8
If you have fish in your garden pond be certain to use a pond heater this winter. This is necessary to release toxic gases from being trapped below the ice. We carry Farm Innovators Floating Pond De-Icer, Thermo-Pond 3.0 and Thermo-Pond Perfect Climate Submersible Pond De-Icer.

December 9
Feed the birds! We have everything they require to get them thru the winter: Lyric birdseed, suet, feeders, houses, birdbaths and birdbath de-icers.

December 10
Add gro-lamps to your home. Use them to provide much needed light to seedlings for this spring or to supplement the diminished winter sunlight in order to grow healthy, happy houseplants. We carry Agrosun bulbs and HydroFarm fixtures. We are able to special order carts and fixtures from Growers Supply. Stop by and we will show you what is available.

December 11
Protect sensitive plants from the winter wind and sun by constructing a screen made of burlap stretched between wooden stakes. If you have not yet done so, spray broadleaf evergreens with Wilt Pruf or Bonide Wilt Stop on a warm day (45 degrees Fahrenheit or above). Spray plants a second time in six weeks to provide continuous protection all winter long.

December 12
Bulb Forcing Workshop this evening at 7:00 PM. This is a free class! Come and enjoy, no need to rsvp.
Did you know that paperwhites help prevent cabin fever? These easy to force bulbs require no cooling period to flower and provide an abundance of fragrant blooms to brighten the winter home. We also carry Amaryllis and an assortment of other bulbs for gift giving and forcing this season.

December 13
Keep your houseplants healthy this winter, provide them with an aura of humidity by using a humidity tray or saucer filled with stones and water.
